In this Master Class lecture, you will get to know the iconic Riesling selection of Schloss Johannisberger, considered the birthplace of the Riesling grape, gain insight into the history of Schloss Johannisberger, the unique terroir and understanding of the estate's influence on the development of German Riesling, and of course, you will get to taste the estate's selected world-class Riesling wines.

Known as the world's first "Riesling estate", Schloss Johannisberg was founded in the Rheingau, Germany, in 1720. The house has a history of winemaking spanning almost 1,200 years, but they have been working full-time with Riesling for 300 years.
Schloss Johannisberg operates mainly in the prestigious Rheingau quality wine region, which is located west of Frankfurt, on the northern slopes of the Rhine. Schloss Johannisberg is one of the region's elite and is part of the VDP producer organization. The house is known worldwide for its particularly high-quality Riesling wines. The strengths of the wines are fine nuances, rich aromas from spicy herbs to citrus and sweet, yellow fruits. In addition, the wines have very different acidity levels and elegant minerality.

For many New World wine-growing regions, the name “Johannisberger” is synonymous with Riesling.

Led by Kim Engblom, you will taste three different dry Rieslings from Schloss Johannisberger as well as their amazing sweeter Kabinett and Spätlese wines.
