Nestled between the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs, Pierry 1er Cru in the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay is a true mosaic of terroirs. This village witnessed at the end of the 17th century the work of Dom Oudart—contemporary of Dom Pérignon—who produced some of the region’s earliest sparkling wines. For three generations, Pierry has been home to the Sélèque family. With the Soloiste range, Jean-Marc Sélèque pays tribute to the village’s singular terroirs. Each cuvée is the pure expression of a single plot and a single grape variety, revealing Pierry in its most precise and unadorned form.

Soliste Meunier pays homage to old massal selection Meunier planted in 1951 in the Gouttes d’Or vineyard. Soliste Infusion Meunier offers a luminous rosé expression from the Charmiers micro-terroir. Soliste Pinot Noir reveals the grape’s brilliance and delicacy from the Les Gayères vineyard. Soliste Chardonnay, a refined Blanc de Blancs, is sourced from the adjoining south-facing plots of Tartières and Porgeons. Join Jean-Marc Sélèque—one of Champagne’s brightest grower talents—for an immersive discovery of Pierry and its many expressions.

Jean-Marc Sélèque returned to his family Domaine in Pierry in 2008 after viti-oenological studies at several New World vineyards. From his experiences in the Napa Valley and in Australia’s Yarra Valley, Jean-Marc returned with a solid technical background and a sharp eye for precision in winemaking. But he also became aware of the limitations of a resolutely technological approach to wine. From that base, Jean-Marc committed himself to the pursuit of an artisanal vision of champagne, in search of authenticity and the most natural expression of terroir.
