Girard-Bonnet is one of the most exciting new stars emerging in Champagne today. This young, 2018-established domaine brings together two remarkable family legacies: the Les Mesnil-sur-Oger vineyards of Philippe Girard and the Oger holdings of Dominique Bonnet. Under the guidance of their son Paul Girard, these parcels now form an enviable estate of 12 hectares, predominantly classified as Grand Cru and cultivated following organic and biodynamic principles. In the cellar, precision and restraint guide every decision.

Paul Girard’s master class is designed as a true revelation of terroir. We begin in Premier Cru territory with Au Bout du Chemin from Vertus and Voipreux, before stepping into the dialogue between the Grand Cru villages of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger with À Mi-Chemin. From there, Paul Girard guides us deeper into village identity, first through his  interpretation of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in Mon Village, then through Avize in À Deux Pas. The tasting culminates with two of Girard-Bonnet’s most recent releases: Les Mussettes from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Caferlane from Oger—two single-vineyard wines that encapsulate the precision and future promise of this rising Champagne grower.

After completing his technical training in viticulture and oenology in Avize, Paul Girard broadened his expertise with advanced studies in wine management and business in Bordeaux. Since taking the reins of his family domaine in 2018, Paul has transformed his inherited patrimony into the Girard-Bonnet estate, a project defined by precision, ambition, and independence. That vision reached major milestones in 2023 with receipt of biodynamic Demeter certification and the inauguration of a purpose-built winery.
