The A.Bergère family, which have been cultivating vines since 1848, has its roots in Fèrebrianges in Vallée du Petit Morin just south of Côte des Blancs. Representative of the fifth generation of vinegrowers, Adrien Bergère knows his plentiful and diverse terroirs. As an artisans of the terroir, he strives to bring out the potential of his vineyard plots.

Export manager Maxime Pierlot has dedicated his masterclass to Chardonnay and its expression in the up-and-coming Petit Morin Valley. Through a comparative tasting, we explore the influence of soils, time, and winemaking choices. The objective is to demonstrate how a single grape variety can offer very different interpretations while remaining faithful to a strong terroir identity defined by freshness and minerality.

Maxime Pierlot’s passion for wines arose from his family and friends. It was through discussions with his friend Adrien Bergère that he went on to study wine. Maxime obtained his BTS Viticulture Oenology on a work-study basis at Champagne Marc Hebrart estate. Afterwards he completed a law degree, a master's degree in business and a second master's degree in wine and spirits law. For eight years now, he has worked with Adrien Bergère at A.Bergère.
